➤ Be kind and respectful.

Always treat people with respect first and foremost. Do not act in bad faith or be an asshole.

➤ IC =/= OOC, Fiction =/= Reality

In-Character actions or opinions should not be taken as Out-Of-Character expressions of values or personal feelings. Let people play what they want to play so long as it is within the rules and boundaries of this shared space.

➤ Communicate clearly and uphold your boundaries

Individual permissions and preferences should always be clearly communicated and respected by all parties. Ask for clarity when needed or wanted. We expect that players discuss issues directly, privately, and respectfully if they arise. Reach out to moderation with questions, concerns, or feedback.

➤ All kinks are welcome. Use warnings when content is extreme.

Be mindful to use content warnings in advance of sensitive subject matter. We expect warnings for things like (cw: noncon), we do not expect them for (cw: nsfw!). We expect players to use their best judgement on what constitutes an “extreme" kink or content without the need to provide an exhaustive list. If you have any doubt, please inquire with moderation for clarity. Do not present extreme kinks, nor their fall out, to the game at large under any circumstances. Players should always be able to Opt-out of a plot or scenario if they wish. Do not kink push nor kink shame.

➤ No children allowed!

All players and their characters must be (18+) to be allowed in this game. No children should exist in this setting as PCs nor as NPCs. Pregnancy is not possible within the setting. (We may have events which "simulate" the experience for purely kink purposes.) We do not want to have to "think of the children" here.

➤Death in this game is serious, treat it that way.

Character death is considered Final in this setting. The death of an Overseer is difficult to cause. If a character fully dies, they are required to be dropped from the game. Moderation must be contacted about death plot lines of this manner. Any "near death" IC occurrences do not need to be run by moderation! Characters who are heavily injured or "near death" are unincorporated into thin air by the magic binding them to Absentia. They are reincorporated within the glass coffin they first arrived in. Near death Overseers experience a brief time frame (up to player discretion) of physical recovery and are released from their coffin once they are returned to a survivable state. "Undead" states like being a zombie, vampire, etc... are allowed to persist so long as a character still requires some form of sustenance to remain "living" (food, water, blood, whatever the limitation may be). Characters should not be blanket immortal/un-killable ICly. Please respect that death in this game is considered a serious matter. Characters who are Dropped via death can be reapplied to the game, but cannot hold IC continuity with their previous version. Moderation may limit Death Drop usage in the future if we see fit. We wish for death to be a very rare and well considered occurrence.

➤ Do not power game or break the setting.

Do not make your character so powerful (in any way) that it imposes upon other players. Singular characters should not be "solving" events or large scale problems. We expand on the particulars of power limiting in our FAQ. The rules and limitations of the setting should be maintained across all game threads. Do not have events occur in your threads which would significantly alter the setting for other players. If players wish to effect the setting in such a way, it should be run by moderation in a player plot which allows other players to engage with fully.

➤ Utilize Opt-Outs

Players need to utilize Opt-Out pages freely and without stigma. All characters are required to have a public Opt-Out Page on their character account. Opt-outs should always be respected and never worked around in any way, ICly or OOCly. The game remains a shared space regardless of who is opted-out of who, so all parties should be mindful when engaging with group plot lines or events.

➤ No AI

AI should not be used in applications, during play, or for artwork related to the game. Artwork used for character references or territories should be properly sourced to the content it is from (ex. a certain canon) or the original artist. Do not use AI for character icons. We do not require character icons all be perfectly sourced, frankly that is too much for moderation to review. We understand it can be difficult to tell what is AI if it's being passed off as an artist's original work. Both Moderation and Players should do our best to avoid AI.

➤ This is a game for smut writing.

Players who join this game should like and want to write smut. If not, what are you doing here? If a player is not engaging with this element of the game, they should find a more suitable game to their liking.

➤ Moderation has the final say.

Moderation is spending time and effort on this game, so please respect that time and effort. We aim to guide players towards a fun and entertaining experience. As a result, matters of moderation should be left up to the mod team. We will work off a two-strike system if a warning is deemed appropriate. We reserve the right to immediately ban players who violate the rules or the spirit of good play. Moderation may decide to decline entry to our game to those with a history of rule breaking or otherwise bad reputation within the greater DWrp community. We welcome outreach from the moderation members of other games if they have information regarding any player's bad behavior. (We do not want reports of individual incidents or personal bugbears. Severe and/or repeated misbehavior is where we draw the line and we urge anybody with that information to report it.)
